
AM25: Navigating Budget Model Shifts Between Centralized and RCM

This session will follow one land-grant university’s journey through evolving budget models—from centralized, to Responsibility Centered Management (RCM), and back, but with RCM elements retained. Panelists will share lessons learned, highlight the benefits and challenges of each model, showcase data tools used for strategic financial decision-making, and explore key issues identified, including governance and resource allocation challenges. You’ll leave with practical steps to refine or redesign your own budget models.

- Explain the benefits and challenges of the RCM model in practice.
- Identify common pitfalls and how to address them when adjusting your budget model.
- Apply data tools and reporting strategies to inform financial decision-making.

Steps to Earn CPE Credit
You can only earn credit for attending the session live. CPE credit cannot be earned for watching the recordings.
To earn CPE credit, you will complete the following tasks under the Content tab, after the session has ended:
- Pass the CPE codeword quiz. Write down the codewords posted in the Zoom chat at random times throughout the session and complete the quiz at the end of the session.
- Submit the CPE check-out code displayed at the end of the session.
- Download your CPE certificate.
