Communication is a key building block of anyone's work, but it can also be a recurring stumbling block that can be improved with some mindful and deliberate actions in crafting your presentations. In this session, panelists will share insights on how to develop a presentation with an emphasis on clarity, conciseness, style, and delivery. Attendees will take away practical and useable tools and methods to incorporate into presentations.

Steps to Earn CPE Credit

You can only earn credit for attending the session live. CPE credit cannot be earned for watching the recordings.

To earn CPE credit, you will complete the following tasks under the Content tab, after the session has ended:

  1. Pass the CPE codeword quiz. Write down the codewords posted in the Zoom chat at random times throughout the session and complete the quiz at the end of the session. 
  2. Submit the CPE check-out code displayed at the end of the session. 
  3. Download your CPE certificate. 

You have until 5 pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, to complete these three steps or report technology issues with this site to online@nacubo.org.

Dianna Cichocki

Clinical Associate Professor

University at Buffalo

Dianna Cichocki is a clinical associate professor in the management science and systems department at the University at Buffalo. She teaches "Statistical Decisions in Management" in the school of management's undergraduate program and "Statistical Foundations in Analytics" in the online MBA and MS in business analytics programs. Cichocki has also taught courses such as "Data Modeling" and "Communicating With Data." In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she conducts workshops and presentations at the local, state, and national levels, focusing on MS Excel skills and best practices in data visualization. Her recent collaborations include work with local companies such as Renold Plc, Moog, Materion, McGard, National Bureau of Property Administration (NBPA), Reichert Technologies, and Tronconi Segarra and Associates.

Carl Lam

Resource Analyst, Office of Resource Planning

University at Buffalo

Carl Lam is a resource analyst at the University at Buffalo and has been in the role since April 2022. He works closely as a liaison between central administration and academic/academic support units on campus with budgetary planning and analysis along with the university's annual resource planning process. He holds master's degrees in engineering management, business administration, music performance, and higher education administration, all from the University at Buffalo.

Mary Ann Rogers

Clinical Associate Professor, Organization and Human Resources, School of Management

University at Buffalo

Professor Mary Ann Rogers is a member of the school of management’s organization and human resources department and principally teaches communication and organizational behavior courses on the undergraduate, MBA, and executive MBA levels. Rogers also serves as the school of management’s assistant dean for diversity and inclusion, oversees the first-year MBA mentor program, is faculty advisor to the UB MBA Case Competition Club and the Graduate Management Association, and frequently provides corporate training in Western New York organizations. 

Throughout her career, Rogers held a variety of administrative positions in the University at Buffalo, which included development and external relations, personnel, and resource management responsibilities. She was appointed as a full-time faculty member in the school of management in 2008. Prior to her current position, Rogers served as vice dean in the University at Buffalo Law School.
