PBAF24: Higher Education’s Top Business Issues: The View From the Cabinet

In September, NACUBO will again release a list of the top business issues confronting colleges and universities. How are the challenges evolving at different institutions? What issues may stay with us for the foreseeable future? In this lively discussion, institutional leaders at the cabinet level will examine these pressing issues and share how they—along with their presidents—intend to address them. The panel will also explore some potential opportunities hidden in this sea of questions.

Steps to Earn CPE Credit
You can only earn credit for attending the session live. CPE credit cannot be earned for watching the recordings.
To earn CPE credit, you will complete the following tasks under the Content tab, after the session has ended:
- Pass the CPE codeword quiz. Write down the codewords posted in the Zoom chat at random times throughout the session and complete the quiz at the end of the session.
- Submit the CPE check-out code displayed at the end of the session.
- Download your CPE certificate.
You have until 5 pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, to complete these three steps or report technology issues with this site to online@nacubo.org.

Dr. Anita Moore-Bohannon is a dedicated and forward-thinking educator with 24 years of experience, nearly 20 of which have been in higher education. Her journey includes impactful roles at institutions like Heartland Community College and Waubonsee Community College, where she had an exemplary record of delivering high-quality programs and services to facilitate student well-being, belonging, and success. Now serving as the vice president of student affairs/dean of students at National Louis University, she combines innovation with a thoughtful, reflective approach to leadership. Anita is known for her entrepreneurial can-do attitude and highly effective management style, which fosters community, shared vision, and positive interpersonal relationships. She approaches operational and financial challenges with resourcefulness and determination, leading to environments where diverse individuals can thrive.
Linda Kroll
Associate Vice President for Finance
University of Notre Dame
Linda Kroll is a CPA and associate vice president for finance for the University of Notre Dame. In her current role, Kroll oversees the office of budget planning, the office of procurement services, financial operations of Notre Dame Global and the training, development and talent management programs for the finance division. This includes oversight of the budget planning and strategic sourcing activities for the university’s $1.9 billion operating budget including, multi-year budget development and analysis, financial modeling and forecasting, and monitoring the university’s annual spending and vendor relationships. It also includes partnership on financial oversight of Notre Dame International, which includes 5 global gateways, 6 international centers and multiple study abroad student locations. In addition, she also works collaboratively with finance division leadership in talent management, training, and development of finance employees. She has been at Notre Dame since 1998.
Prior to joining the university, Linda worked in public accounting for Crowe Horwath in South Bend, IN.
Vicki Román-Lagunas
Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
Indiana University Northwest
Currently the interim chancellor for Indiana University Northwest, Dr. Vicki Román-Lagunas has been working in offices of academic affairs since 2000. Before accepting this interim role, Román-Lagunas served as the executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at IUN for seven years. And prior to that she worked in academic affairs at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, after moving through faculty ranks. A Latinamericanist by discipline, Román-Lagunas is bilingual/bicultural.
